Since the MRCOOL® VersaPro® Packaged Unit comes in two different models, it's somewhat personal preference! If your home has natural gas or propane, then the Gas/Electric model may be right for you. If you want to go electric-only, the Heat Pump model is a great choice.

Can the VersaPro® Package Units be installed on a rooftop?

The Gas/Electric package unit can be installed on a flat roof or angled roof with brackets because it has a horizontal or downflow airflow, while the Heat Pump cannot because it is only horizontal.

What accessories are available for these units?

Accepted Answer

An LP conversion kit can be added to the Gas/Electric model if you have propane, and optional heating kits are available for the heat pump model.
