Zac Fulcher Wins Big at Darana Raceway with the MRCOOL® TravelCool™

Winning in Hebron, Ohio takes serious focus. See how Zac Fulcher relies on his RV heat pump to stay comfortable on the road and keep cool under pressure.

If you spend weeks traveling in an RV, reliable heating and cooling isn't a luxury. It's essential. Professional drag racer Zac Fulcher knows this firsthand. Between race weekends, long highway drives, and countless nights on the road, his team depends on the MRCOOL® TravelCool™ RV heat pump to stay comfortable while using less power than traditional RV air conditioners.

What does it take to dominate the drag strip and survive the grueling travel schedule of a pro? We recently sat down with Zac following his big Laris Motorsports Insurance TB 75K win to discuss his racing mindset, life on tour, and how reliable RV climate control helps him keep cool under pressure.

How Zac Started Racing

Zac’s passion for speed started early. Introduced to racing by his grandfather at just seven years old, the track quickly became his second home. But it wasn't until he attended his first NHRA national event that he knew he wanted to turn this lifelong passion into a professional career.

When asked about his biggest influences, Zac points to his granddad, his uncle, and racing legends John Force and Clay Millican. Interestingly, it wasn't their driving techniques that left the biggest mark on him.

They haven’t really influenced my driving style because we are in two different types of drag racing," Zac explains. "It was their character. Watching how they treated others and carried themselves on and off the track taught me a lot.

That strong character has been essential for navigating the highs and lows of the sport. According to Zac, the biggest obstacle in racing isn't mechanical, it's mental.

The biggest obstacle is your mindset. You have to believe in yourself before anyone else will.

Winning on Race Day Starts with the Right Mindset

That steady, focused mindset faced its biggest challenge yet at the Laris Motorsports Insurance TB 75K at Darana Raceway in Hebron, Ohio. Competing at a track where the team had historically struggled, they knew they couldn't rely on past results. Instead of dwelling on previous disappointments, they approached the event with a simple strategy: take it one pass at a time.

During the final passes, Zac kept his strategy simple: "Don't overthink and just hit my marks on the track."

That laser focus paid off in a massive way during a true make-or-break moment. In a grueling competition that started with 427 competitors, Zac clinched a victory by a microscopic .002 of a second when there were only five cars left.

How does a driver keep their cool in moments like that? For Zac, it all comes down to his crew.

"Even though I'm the one driving the car, I trust my team. Between rounds, they'll tell me what I did well, confirm I made the right call, and keep me from second-guessing myself. That helps me stay confident and focused."

Why Zac Chooses MRCOOL® TravelCool™ for His RV

It takes a well-oiled machine to win a race, and Zac sees a lot of synergy between his crew and his sponsors.

Just like MRCOOL®, we try to assess every aspect of our operation to make sure that it’s operating at its full potential," Zac says. "It means a lot knowing MRCOOL® believes in us. We're proud to represent them, and we're thankful to have them on this journey with us.

For Zac and his team, the MRCOOL® partnership extends far beyond a logo on a car. Life on the racing circuit means countless hours on the highway and living out of an RV. Having a reliable climate control system is a game-changer.

When asked about his experience with his RV's new setup, Zac didn't hold back:

Honestly, it's been great. It heats and cools the RV quickly, uses less power than anything we've run before, and it's been dependable. When you're traveling as much as we do, that makes a big difference.

For race teams like Zac's, an efficient RV HVAC system isn't simply about comfort. Faster heating and cooling means less downtime after arriving at the track, while lower energy consumption helps maximize generator and battery efficiency during long weekends on the road.
