Compared to our 4th Generation Multi-Zone series, the 5th Gen DIY® Multi-Zone system delivers numerous enhancements that make it smarter, quieter, and more adaptable than ever. One of the most exciting upgrades is the expanded options for indoor units, adding a 6k BTU air handler to the lineup. We have also added a larger 55k BTU condenser, allowing for up to 6 separate zones to be covered by the same unit. These upgrades offer even more flexibility for room-by-room customization.
The 5th Gen systems also incorporate improved energy efficiency with optimized SEER2 ratings, providing greater comfort with lower energy consumption. The brand-new 55k BTU condenser, which allows up to 6 different zone combinations, offers more installation variability than ever before - you could heat and cool an entire house with one mini-split condenser! If you’re looking for a more small-scale solution, our 18k BTU condenser used to only support two zones, but with the addition of the new 6k air handler, we upgraded this condenser to handle three zones. This means it’s perfect for bringing comfort to smaller spaces.
